Most recommendations cite a minimum of 50% cotton for DTG friendly shirts. The natural fibers provide a very absorbent surface for the inks to adhere to. Materials that readily take up the pre-treatment and inks provide the crisp vivid designs that are a keystone of DTG printing.
Inferior cotton yarns can degrade the quality of the knit, so we utilize only combed ring spun cotton for all our apparel and seriously recommend it for any direct to garment shirts you are considering. Combing and ring spinning in combination strips out short staple fibers while providing a tighter spun yarn. Softer hand and a more consistent fabric surface make our 100% combed ring spun cotton tees an excellent candidate for the best wholesale dtg shirts. While our organic combed ring spun cotton, eco-blends and 50/50 blends each has their place depending on the client application.
